Itinerario de una mujer en la frontera.

My work is a seek to represent through self-portrait and intimacy the life of a woman in the border of México and the United States, more specifically in Ciudad Juárez. By taking my different series, I’m finding myself and my aprocheness to photography.

I love color, I really like to find many ways to use the combination of colors in my work.

Being also a production designer for video and film I think that all my photos have a deep interest in expressing different kinds of concerns through design, always based in who I am.

I am a woman who lives in the border of México and USA from a middle class family. Influenced by different aesthethic: latino and anglo styles. I am the combination, between different ways of living, working and expressing, but first of all I am "juarense woman" 

I dress up to question the gaze of the inquisitive morality that judges, points out and condemns everything, in this case: the female visual representation. That is why the woman in the series is presented as she chooses in spite of the gaze and presence of the State and the Church.

Mi trabajo es una búsqueda por representar desde la intimidad y a través del auto-retrato la vida de una mujer en la frontera de México con Estados Unidos, específicamente, la vida de una mujer Juarense. Al mismo tiempo, es una exploración a través del color y de elementos simbólicos para expresar lo que me interesa y quien realmente soy. Soy una mujer que vive en la frontera con Estados Unidos que proviene de una familia de clase media. Influenciada por diferentes estéticas: latinas y anglosajonas. 

Soy la combinación dos modos de vida, de expresión y de trabajo. Me disfrazo para cuestionar la mirada de la moral inquisitiva que juzga, señala y lo condena todo, en este caso: la representación visual femenina. Por eso la mujer en la serie se presenta como ella elige a pesar de la mirada y presencia del Estado y la Iglesia.  En resumen, la serie es un intento por representar a través del color, los elementos de la habitación y el auto-retrato, la construcción de mi identidad.
